  • Therapy is a place to welcome
    yourself just as you are.

Joy. Hope. Humor. Fear. Sorrow. Shame. We are complicated people. There’s no part of you that you need to hide here, so bring along every part. All of you is welcome.

I invite you to pause. Take a slow breath, in and out. Let’s work together to cultivate compassion, acceptance, healing, and growth…

One of the hallmarks of mental health struggles is a feeling of being alone. The truth is, while you alone are the only one who fully knows and understands your own experience, you don’t have to go through this alone. Humans are relational beings. We benefit from sharing our stories with others. There is inherent relief in being seen, known, and accepted by another person. Unfortunately, sometimes it is hard to find a space free of judgement and shame, where compassion and loving-kindness lead they way. My goal in therapy is to offer this space for you. With this foundational compassionate space, we can rebuild together whatever parts of your life seem to be barren, wounded, or ruined.

I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, perfectionism, ADHD, addiction, emotional/physical/sexual abuse, and trauma. I provide trauma-informed care as a standard. Traumatic stress is often at the root of barriers in life, leaving clients feeling “stuck” and ashamed. Self-compassion is the antidote to shame that I actively seek to nourish using various treatment modalities.

    About Jackie Peterson

As a trauma therapist, my knowledge and understanding of trauma underlies all of the work that I do. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, life transitions, traumatic stress, perfectionism, and addiction. I provide trauma-informed care as a standard and use a person-in-environment framework, so that progress made in therapy can be maintained in daily life. I am happy to answer any questions about my training and the modalities I utilize- and I invite you to read more on my “about me” page.
